It affects people of every age\, gender\, socio-economic status and location.\nBecause at the current rate\, 13 million breast cancer deaths will occur around the world in the next 25 years.\nBecause it’s time to go beyond breast cancer awareness. Enjoy the scenic views while running (or walking) in an area best known for its tall bluffs and carved river valleys. Test your grit against the Driftless regions steep climbs and rewarding descents. \nThis point-to-point course starts near the river village of Harpers Ferry\, Iowa. Runners will head into the surrounding farm country along Great River Road. A right turn onto Red Oak Road will offer views of the Mississippi River and Wexford Creek. Returning onto Great River Road\, runners will make the 400′ ascent up to Lafayette Ridge. Don’t let that scare you away\, though! It’s all down hill and flat(ish) from mile 8 to the end. At mile 11 runners will take in views of Pool 9 of the Mississippi River and Lansing’s notorious Black Hawk Bridge as they come into the finish near the Lansing Sports Complex.

DESCRIPTION:View Results in Full Screen Mode\n \nView Results in Full Screen Mode \nPump\, Run or Walk to Back the Blue. 5K Pump and Run a participant’s score will be based on a combination of how many times he/she can bench press a % of their weight (see weight charts posted on the Facebook page for this event) & 5K race time. Pump and Run athletes can weigh in and lift between 7:00am and 8:15am on race day. \nTo calculate the score\, an athlete will reduce their 5K run time by 30 seconds for each successful lift (maximum 30 reps for a maximum of 15-minute reduction. Participants may also just run or walk in the 5k portion of the event. The top male and female participants in each age category will receive a medal. There will be a traveling trophy for top Law Enforcement Official.

This is THE LOCAL RACE\, that is run by a local organization that will not only raise funds that stay in central Iowa\, but will also let the participants contribute to design of multiple obstacles. Contributors Breakfast Club is excited to host a fun and challenging event that will attract a wide range of participants from all over Iowa.

Runners and walkers of all levels will come out to support youth facing adversity in Floyd County. \nThe event will begin and end at Wildwood Park and Golf Course in Charles City. The race starts promptly at 7:00PM. \nRegistration includes chip-timing\, dri-fit t-shirt\, glow gear\, swag bag\, and refreshments! \nAll proceeds of the event go to directly support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa and our mentoring programs. \nIn case of severe inclement weather\, postponement announcements will be made via our social media pages.
