The race is designed to be family friendly yet\, timing chip competitive.  With a kids race following the 5k and breakfast for all\, it makes for a great start to a Saturday Morning.

SUMMARY:UI Doc Dash - Iowa City - Carver College of Medicine 2019
DESCRIPTION:View Results in Full Screen Mode\n  \nThe Doc Dash is a 5K race/walk that takes its route through the hospital campus and surrounding neighborhood. It is a 30-year tradition supported by the Carver College of Medicine and will take place this year at 9 AM on April 13th\, 2019. A shorter children’s race (dubbed the ‘Doc-ling Dash’) will start at 8:30 AM. In addition to healthcare professionals\, the race is geared to the general public. \nWe donate all proceeds to the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic and the University of Iowa Mobile Clinic. These Iowa City organizations provide services to under-served populations who lack health insurance. Additionally\, the Mobile Clinic draws its volunteers entirely from the College of Medicine and students of other healthcare disciplines to aid in the training of future healthcare professionals. \nThe children’s Doc-ling Dash is in its second year! The children’s run will consist of a roughly 1/2 mile course which will have stops along the way so that the kids can pick up stickers and other prizes. The interactive race course is meant to inspire kids to have fun while doing something healthy. Because our goal is to get children from the community out doing a healthy activity\, both the 1/2 mile Doc-ling Dash and the 5K are FREE to children under 14.

DESCRIPTION:View Results in Full Screen Mode\n  \nThe ideal catalyst for future triathletes — and for those who prefer land over water — the Omaha Duathlon combines running and biking for a rewarding\, multi-sport experience. The race is held at NP Dodge Park which is a 445-acre park along the Missouri river.  This early season race is also the perfect race to start off the season and measure your winter training efforts. The Omaha Duathlon has ideal temperatures and a festive atmosphere after the race.  You have the option to register for the individual race or the team relay. Both individual and team distances are the same: 2 Mile Run\, 15 Mile Bike Ride\, 2 Mile Run.

SUMMARY:Doughnut Run 5k 2019
DESCRIPTION:View Results in Full Screen Mode\n  \nThe Doughnut Run 5K is the only race around where you a rewarded for eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts! Each donut you eat at one of the aid stations on the course takes additional time off of your finishing time. Careful though–we enforce the Chucky rule which states that anyone who loses his donuts before the finish line starts his or her count over at zero! Medals are awarded to men and women in the following categories: Best Run Time\, and Best Doughnut Adjusted Time. Medals or plaques will be awarded in the following categories as well: Most Doughnuts Eaten\, Best Costume\, and Top Team Score. Teams scores will be scored like a typical cross country meet were they add together the places of the top 4 team members and the lowest team score wins. Teams can be mixed gender or single gender and the participants doughnut adjusted places will be used for this determination. There will also be door prizes that will be drawn for at the end of the awards ceremony so make sure you stay until the end because you must be present to win. Parking will be available in the Brookside Park parking lot on a first come first serve basis. Some overflow parking will be available on side streets.
