DESCRIPTION:Race for Hope Des Moines is an annual event inspired by Nicolas Lovan\, a 16 year old Des Moines native. The all volunteer staff prides itself in keeping costs as low as possible in order to maximize proceeds sent to brain tumor organizations. The race is also a green event\, re-using as much as possible with all trash is recycled responsibly. DESCRIPTION:The Mary’s Meals 10K and 5K was created and planned by a group of local volunteers who are passionate about feeding children in most desperate need of food.  Proceeds from the 10K and 5K will be donated to the non-profit organization\, Mary’s Meals\, which is focused on one goal –  feeding every child a nutritious daily meal in a place of education.  These life-changing meals attract hungry children into the classroom. The food fills their empty bellies so they have the energy and opportunity to learn\, giving them the chance of a brighter future. SUMMARY:Diaper Dash 5k/1 Mile
DESCRIPTION:Omaha Birth Connection has partnered with LIFEhouse Partnership\, a local 501c3 non-profit\, to bring awareness\, education and the donation of diapers to families with infants and small children in Omaha\, NE.   \n1 in 3 families struggle to afford clean diapers for their children. When a family is unable to provide diapers for their child\, the whole family is affected both physically and emotionally.\nPrograms exist to assist families with basic necessities such as food\, shelter\, and clothing but surprisingly\, diaper need is not supported by any government program. \nOmaha Birth Connection is trying to change these stats. This diaper drive\, in conjunction with the proceeds from a 5K race\, will benefit LIFEhouse Partnership\, an Omaha diaper bank\, right here in our community. Local businesses and sponsors are helping\, you can too. Starting in April\, drop your diaper donations at collection boxes throughout the community. On Saturday\, May 13th\, join us at Rockbrook Village for the 5K and family fun event.
